The previous role most often given is finance leadership below the cfo (26); 8 interims took the seat alongside a chief executive or president title.

Most spells are still open in the record. 5 have been closed by a later filing at the same company: 5 by a successor and 0 by the interim officer being confirmed in the seat. Where both filings give exact dates, the spells ran 77, 89, 110 days. For one spell the successor's effective date in the filing falls before the interim appointment, so no length is computed.
